Which nutrients are helpful in brain development?
Adequate nutrition is very essential for brain development. It is very crucial for the development of cognitive, motor and socio-emotional skills in children and adults.
One of the vital nutrients for brain structure is a long chain of Omega-3 fatty acids. It protects the brain from memory loss. But, it cannot be synthesized in the human body thus it is obtained from salmon, tuna and sardines.
Other nutrients essential for brain development are iron, zinc, selenium, folate, iodine, vitamin A, and choline.
