Where we can find the metric measurements?
The International System of Units (Système international d'unités or SI) is the modern metric system which is most widely used around the world.
It has been based on the metre–kilogram–second–ampere (MKSA) system of units since the early 20th century.
Metric System is a system which is used for measuring distance, length, volume, weight and temperature. It is mainly based on three basic units with which almost everything in the world can be measured.
1. M- meter, used to measure the length.
2. Kg- kilogram, used to measure the mass.
3. S- second, used to measure time.
There are some common units which are based on the kilogram, meter and second.
1. Area = Square Meter or meter square (Area = length × length). So, the basic unit of area is = meters × meters = m2.
2. Liter = one-thousandth of a cubic meter or meter cube (1 m3 = 1,000 Liters). So, 1 Liter = $\frac{1}{1000}$ m3
3. Volume = Cubic Meter. So, the basic unit of volume = m3 (cubic meters).
4. Time = Hour (1 hour = 60 minutes, 1 minutes = 60 seconds). So, 1 hour = 60 × 60 = 3600 seconds.
5. Day = (1 day= 24 hours). So, 1 day= 24 × 60 × 60 = 86400 seconds.
