When a drop of orange juice is added to pure water, how the pH value will vary for water? If a drop of lemon juice is also added, will there be any more change in the pH value?
Orange juice and lemon juice are citrus fruits that contain citric acid in their juices.
When a drop of orange juice is added to the water, the acid releases H+ ions on dissociation. This lowers its pH value making it acidic in nature.
If a drop of lemon juice is added to it, the concentration of citric acid will increase further resulting in lowering the pH from 7.
