When are the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to occur during the day?
The maximum temperature of the day generally occurs in the afternoon.
The minimum temperature of the day generally occurs in the early morning time (not at the dusk time).
The maximum and minimum temperatures displayed daily in the weather bulletin refer to the highest day temperature and lowest night temperature of the day. However, both the maximum and minimum temperatures at a location can be changed by the meteorological conditions there. The gap between the maximum and minimum temperatures may be minimal in a hot, humid environment.
The maximum and minimum temperatures of a day are recorded by using the maximum-minimum thermometer.
A thermometer is used to record the temperature at both its highest and lowest points. Six's thermometer is the name of the device, which was created in honor of British scientist James Six. The terms "maximum and minimum thermometer" are also used for it. At the two ends of a "U"-shaped tube, there is a cylindrical and a spherical bulb.
A maximum-minimum thermometer functions based on how alcohol expands or contracts inside a tube with a U-band form. The U-band-shaped tube has two sides, one of which measures the minimum temperature and the other the maximum temperature.
