What would be the product when Iron oxide reacts with Aluminium?
When Iron (III) oxide $(F{e}_{2}{O}_{3})$ reacts with Aluminium $(Al)$, it form Aluminium oxide $(A{l}_{2}{O}_{3})$ and molten Iron $(F{e})$.
This is a displacement reaction as aluminium displaces iron in Iron (III) oxide to form aluminium oxide. It is also a redox reaction as both oxidation of aluminium and reduction of iron is taking place.
The equation can be given as-
$2Al(s)+F{e}_{2}{O}_{3}(s)\to A{l}_{2}{O}_{3}(s)+2Fe(l)+heat$
