What will happen if there are no platelets in the blood?
The function of the platelets in the blood is the clotting of blood. They contain certain chemicals like heparin which help in the coagulation of blood at the site of a cut or wound. If we don't have platelets, the body cannot form clots. Low platelet counts lead to thrombocytopenia. It can also cause severe bleeding that can even lead to death.

As a result, there are numerous thrombocytopenia treatment options, which may vary based on the condition's underlying etiology.
Low platelet counts can result in nosebleeds, a rash with tiny red or purple dots called petechiae, and red, purple, or brown bruises called purpura, bleeding gums, severe menstrual bleeding from cuts that linger for a long time or don't heal on their own.
You might bleed inside in more serious circumstances. These signs include stool with blood, urine with blood in it, bloody vomit, or very dark vomit. It is advisable to visit the hospital right away if any internal bleeding symptoms are noticed.
