What will be the colour of scattered sunlight when the size of the scattering particles is relatively large?

When the size of the scattering particles is relatively large, then all the colours of the light are scattered and gets diffused due to which only the white colour of the light is observed.

Explanation

The colour of scattered light depends on the size of scattering particles in the atmosphere:

1. The larger particles such as water droplets and dust particles present in the atmosphere scatter the light in such a way that the scattered light also appears white.

Also, these larger particles suspended in the atmosphere are much larger than the wavelength range of visible light.

2. The extremely minute particles in the atmosphere such as the air molecules scatter mainly the blue light present in the white sunlight.

Also, the air molecules (nitrogen and oxygen gas molecules) present in the atmosphere are smaller than the wavelength range of visible light.
