What we get when we take acid and base together?
When an acid and base are taken together, they react to neutralize the properties of each other producing a salt.
The H+ cation of the acid reacts with (OH)- anion of the base to form water.
The compound formed by cation of the base and anion of the acid is called a salt.
For example: HCl + NaOH ———> NaCl + H2O
