What should be subtracted from 10 to get 334"

Given: If a number is subtracted from 10 we get $3\frac{3}{4}$.

To find: We have to find the number which should be subtracted from 10 to get $3\frac{3}{4}$.

Solution:

Let $x$ be subtracted from 10 to get  $3\frac {3}{4}$

$10 - x = 3\frac{3}{4} = \frac{(3x4+3)}{4} = \frac{15}{4}$

=>  $x = 10 - \frac{15}{4} = \frac{(40-15)}{4} = \frac{25}{4}$

=> $x = \frac{25}{4} $

Therefore the number is $6\frac{1}{4}$
