What is vibratory motion?

A type of motion in which a particle moves to and fro about a fixed point is known as vibratory motion.  

Examples of vibratory motion are:

1. Swinging of a pendulum.
2. Oscillations of a block connected to a spring.
3. Movement of strings which fixed under tension (In musical instruments).
4. A tuning fork when hit with a rubber hammer executes vibratory motion
