What is the work done by a coolie walking on a horizontal platform with a load on his head?

 When a coolie is walking on a horizontal platform with a load on his head, the work done will be zero.

As known work $W=Fd\cos\theta$

When $F\rightarrow$ applied force

$d\rightarrow$ displacement 

$\theta\rightarrow$ angle between the applied force and the displacement direction$

Here $\theta=90^{\circ}$, therefore, $\cos90^{\circ}=0$

Therefore, work done $W=Fd\times0=0$
