What is the relationship between the rate of heartbeat and pulse rate?
The pulse rate is very similar to the rate of heartbeat.
Every cardiac cycle, consisting of systole and diastole process of atria and ventricles, represents one heartbeat. During the contractions of the heart, blood pressure is increased in the arteries that leads to an increase in pulse rate, which is a direct measure of heart rate.
Hence, the heartbeat is directly proportional to the pulse rate, that is one heartbeat generates one pulse.
