What is the frame of reference?

A reference frame, also called a frame of reference, is a set of coordinates that can be used to determine positions and velocities of objects in that frame, different frames of reference move relative to one another.

In simple terms, a coordinate system with time frame is called frame of reference.

Objects changing their positions with time with respect to the frame of reference are in motion while those which do not change their position are at rest.

For a moving car, it appears moving for the frame of reference outside the car. While the car appears stationary for the frame of reference inside the car.

Here, O is the origin or start point of the object, and P is the position of the object after a time t.
