What is the effect of an increase in concentration of H+ ions?
An increase in H+ ion concentration of a solution increases its acidity.
pH is defined as the negative log of hydrogen ion concentration of a solution
pH = -log[H+]
Therefore more the concentration of H+ ions, the more is the acidic character of the solution and the lower is its pH.
