The differences between symptoms and signs are as follows:-

1. In medical terms, the word ‘sign' is a physical response that is detected by a physician, nurse, or medical device during the examination of a patient to get actual information about the particular disease, illness, etc.
1. Symptoms are a physical or mental problem that is experienced by a person indicating a condition of the disease.
2. The sign is the physical demonstration of a disease that can be detected by feeling, hearing, or seeing.
2. Symptoms are said to be subjective as they can only be felt by any person or patient as an indication of a particular disease.
3. Signs are measurable, which is measured by modes like monitoring pulse rate, temperature, X-ray, Laboratory test, and other machines.
3. Symptoms cannot be seen and do not show up on medical tests, they can be felt only by the sufferer or patients.
4. For example swelling, fractures, bleeding, asthma, tuberculosis, cancer.
