What is the difference between plants and animals on the basis of their growth?

Plants and animals differ from each other in their manner of growth.

In animals, specifically in young animals, the parts of the body grow till they reach a specific genetic determining size. This genetically determined size differs based on the type of species.

While in plants, the growth of the plant parts occurs throughout life and restricted or confined only at certain meristematic tissue regions.
