Perimeter is the distance around the outside of any shape. It is measured in the units m, cm, etc.,	Area is the region of space inside any shape. It is measured in the units $m^2, cm^2,..$

For example, Lets consider the square given below.

In the given figure,

The length of red colored line is the perimeter of square ABCD.

The yellow colored region inside the square is the area of the square ABCD.
