What is the difference between mirror and lens?

The differences between Mirror and Lens are as follows:

MIRRORLENS

1. It is a shiny piece of glass, which is silver polished from the back so that it can produce a clear image by reflection.

1. It is a transparent piece of glass or plastic, bounded by two surfaces, that produces images by refraction in any surface of the two surfaces.

2. It can be plane or spherical (concave & convex).

2. It is usually curved, from one or both sides.

3. It follows the laws of reflection.

3. It follows the laws of refraction.

4. It can be made from glass or metal.

4. It can be made from glass or plastic.

5. Mirror formula is given as: $\frac {1}{v}=\frac {1}{v}+\frac{1}{u}$

5. Lens formula is given as: $\frac {1}{v}=\frac {1}{v}-\frac{1}{u}$

6. It is used in dressing table, periscope, camera, solar cooker, streetlights, car headlights, rearview mirror in vehicles.

6.  It is used in flashlights, telescopes, microscopes, and as spectacles, glass to correct eye defects called Myopia (short-sightedness) and Hypermetropia (long-sightedness).
