What is the difference between 'electrostatic potential' and 'potential difference'.
An electric potential (or, the electric field potential or the electrostatic potential) is a point in an electric field which is the amount of work done in moving a unit positive charge from infinity to that point against electric forces. It is measured in joules.
Potential difference (or, voltage) is defined as the difference in electric potential between two points in a circuit. It has units of volts, or joules per Coulomb.
