What Is The Definition Of Intersect
Intersect
Intersect means to cut or divide by passing through or across. The highway intersects the town. The transversal intersects two parallel lines.
When two or more lines cross each other in a plane, they are called intersecting lines. The intersecting lines share a common point, which exists on all the intersecting lines, and is called the point of intersection.
If the word is intercept instead of 'intersect' then
The intercept of a line is the y-value of the point where it crosses the y-axis. ... The intercept of a line is the point at which it crosses either the x or y-axis. If we do not specify which one, the y-axis is assumed.
