Angle covered in one revolution = 360 and

in one revolution 12 hours occur or pass

Angle swept by clock hour hand while moving one hour = $\frac{360}{12}$ = 30 degrees

From 5 to 9, there are four hours

Angle swept by hour hand in 4 hours = 4 $\times$ 30 degrees = 120 degrees
