What is Synthetic Fibre?

Synthetic fibres are those fibres which are made by humans through chemical synthesis, whereas natural fibres are those that are directly derived from living organisms.

Synthetic fibres are created by a process known as polymerization.

Examples- Rayon, Nylon, Polyester, etc.

RAYON
NYLON
POLYESTER
1. Also known as Artificial Silk.
1. The first synthetic made entirely from chemicals.
1. Made from monomers called Ester.
2. Made from wood pulp(Naturally occurring cellulose).
2. Made up of petroleum oil, coal water, and air.
2. Manufactured from petroleum.
3. Absorb moisture and comfortable to wear.
3. Strong, elastic, wrinkle-resistant, absorbs very little water, and easy to wash.
3. Extremely strong, chemical resistant, wrinkle-resistant, doesn't absorb water easily, and quick to dry and very durable.
