What is root system, and their types?
A root system is the network of all the roots of a plant.
The root system is divided into two categories/types :
1.TapRoot System has a single primary root upon which small, lateral roots called root hairs are attached.
For example- Carrot, Mustard, Parsley, Beetroot, and all dicotyledons.
2. Fibrous Root System - They are a network of fine roots, with no central dominant root, their branching roots grow from the stem. They don't go as deep as taproots, but they spread laterally.
For example- Maize, Banana, Rice, Wheat, Marigold, and all monocotyledons.
