What Is Respiratory System


The respiratory system is a biological system that consists of specific the organs and parts of body involved in exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Human respiratory system consists of nose, larynx, pharynx, trachea, bronchi, and lungs. Respiration is an exchange of gases between an organism and its atmosphere.

The oxygen is inhaled by the nostrils which pass through trachea to the lungs. The blood carries oxygen to cells, the cells get oxidized and obtain energy. The carbon dioxide released is taken out of the body in opposite direction.
