What is relative humidity?

Relative humidity refers to the water vapor present in the air. It gives us how much vapor in the air compared to the actual amount that must be present at that temperature. For example, relative humidity of 20 percent means that the air is holding one-fifth of the water vapor it can actually hold at that temperature.
