What is organic and inorganic food?
Organic foods are those fresh or processed foods which are produced only through natural farming methods in which natural fertilizers like manure is used to improve plant growth. In this method, food is grown or farmed without the use of artificial chemicals such as human-made pesticides, fertilizers, hormones, antibiotics or genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
Organic farming enhances the fertility of the soil, prevents soil erosion, and conserve groundwater. It also protects the human and animal kingdom from the side-effects of chemicals and synthetics.
Many of the farm products like vegetables, fruits, herbs, meat, milk, eggs, etc. are produced organically.
Inorganic foods are that food which has utilized synthetic products, such as chemical fertilizers and pesticides, in their production. Genetically modified food is also considered inorganic.
Research shows that pesticides used in inorganic food for the elimination of harmful insects, microorganisms and other pests, is done by mixing them with soil, water, and air, which cause problems on the agricultural products and affect both human health (exposure to cancers, neurological damage as well as birth defects) and natural balance, hence it finally become an environmental problem. Pesticide runoff is an important contributor to surface-water contamination.
