Probability :

Probability means possibility. Probability is a branch of mathematics that deals with the occurrence of a random event. The probability of any event is between 0 and 1.

The probability of an event A is given by,

$P(A) = \frac{Number of favorable outcomes}{Total number of outcomes}$.

The meaning of probability is the extent to which something is likely to happen.

For example,

When a coin is thrown into the air, the probability of it landing on heads is same as the probability of it landing on tails.

As there are only two possible outcomes, heads and tails, the probability of it landing on heads is same as the probability of it landing on tails, that is, $\frac{1}{2}$.
