What is meant by carding in wool making process?


Carding is defined as the reduction of an entangled mass of fibres into a web which is done by working between two closely spaced and relatively moving surface clothed with the sharp wire points.

In preparing wool fibre for spinning, carding is the step that comes after teasing. It is a mechanical process that disentangles, cleans and intermixes fibres to produce a continuous web.
