It is produced naturally in the stomach of human and other animals as the main component of gastric acid, help to digest food.
Hydrochloric acid is an important chemical reagent and industrial chemical.
It is used in the production of PVC pipes.
Dilute HCl is often used as a descaling agent or cleaning agent in the household.
In the food industry, HCl is used as a food additive and in the preparation of gelatin.
HCl is also used in leather processing industries.
