What Is Horticulture?
Q) What is horticulture?
Answer:
Horticulture is the branch of agriculture that deals with garden crops, generally fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants.
The word horticulture is derived from the Latin hortus, “garden,” and colere, “to cultivate.” As a general term, it covers all forms of garden management, but in ordinary use, it refers to intensive commercial production.
Horticultural crops are diverse; they include annual and perennial species, delicious fruits and vegetables, and decorative indoor and landscape plants.
