What is Group?

In chemistry, Group is a set of chemical elements in the same vertical column of the periodic table. The elements in a group have similarities in the electronic configuration of their atoms, and thus they exhibit almost the same physical and chemical properties. There are 18 groups in the periodic table where the f-block columns are not numbered.
