What is equivalent ratio?


 Equivalent ratio :


 A ratio obtained by multiplying or dividing the numerator and denominator of a given

ratio by the same number is called an equivalent ratios.

Example : Consider 3 : 4

$\frac{3 \times 2 }{ 4 \times 2}  =  \frac{6}{ 8}$

$\frac{3 \times 3 }{ 4 \times 3}   =  \frac{9 }{ 12}$

$\frac{3 \times 4 }{ 4 \times 4}  =  \frac{12}{ 16}$


All of the above are equivalent ratios of $\frac{3 }{ 4}$
