What is DNA?


DNA is an acronym for deoxyribonucleic acid. It is the molecule that contains the genetic code of organisms.

It is the hereditary material in humans and almost all other organisms. Almost every cell in a person's body has the same DNA.

DNA is made up of molecules that are known as 'nucleotides'.
