What is Counting numbers ?
Solution:
Natural Numbers:
- The digits 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,7, 8, 9 and so on were used to count. These counting numbers form the set of Natural numbers.
- Natural numbers are used for counting (as in "there are six coins on the table "Solution: and ordering (as in "this is the third largest city in the country"). Therefore, counting numbers are called as Natural numbers.
- At a later stage after the invention of 0, counting numbers were also called as Whole numbers.
- But, generally speaking, Natural numbers are called as counting numbers.
