What is Concave Mirror?
A mirror is a surface that reflects a clear image.
There can be two types of mirror: Curved mirror and Plane mirror.
If a curved mirror is a part of a sphere then it is known as a spherical mirror.
Spherical mirrors are of two types:
1. Convex mirrors
2. Concave mirrors
A concave mirror is a mirror that is curved inward in the middle. It is also known as converging mirrors, due to the fact that when parallel incident rays fall on the surface of the mirror, the rays will reflect and meet at a particular point and form the real or virtual image, depending on the position of the object. The focal point of the concave mirror lies in front of the mirror.
It is used in torches and vehicle headlights.
