What is cardiac cycle?

The cardiac cycle is the sequence of alternate contraction and relaxation of the atria and ventricles to pump the blood throughout the body.

It starts with the beginning of one heartbeat and end at the beginning of another. It lasts approximately 0.8 seconds.
