What is stainless steel? List the processes involved in making stainless steel.


 Stainless steels are a group of iron-based alloys that contain some of the basic elements found in the earth: iron ore, chromium, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen, and manganese. It contains approximately 11% chromium, as it prevents the iron from rusting and also provides heat-resistant properties.

There are various process involved in the manufacturing of stainless steel, and they are-

1. Melting & Casting.

2. Forming.

3. Heat treatment.

4. Descaling.

5. Cutting.

6. Finishing.
