What is radiation? Explain in terms of Sun or Solar System.
Radiation is the emission of energy as electromagnetic waves or as sub-atomic particles, which cause ionization. Solar radiation is the energy released by the sun from a nuclear fusion reaction that creates electromagnetic energy. About half of the radiation falls under the visible short wave part of the electromagnetic spectrum. The other half is mostly present in the near-infrared part. It is measured in watts per square metre (W/m2).
