What Is Arithmetic Mean?

Solution:

Arithmetic mean of a set of numbers or data is the average of the set of numerical values, as calculated by adding them together and dividing by the number of terms in the set.

For example, the Arithmetic mean of 7, 4, 5 and 8 is

                                              $\frac{7+4+5+8}{4}=6$.

Mean is the most commonly used measure of central tendency. There are different types of mean, viz. arithmetic mean, weighted mean, geometric mean (GM) and harmonic mean.
