What is Apoptosis?

Apoptosis is a programmed cell death that occurs in multicellular organisms. All cells have a definite lifespan after which they condense, disintegrate, and die. Every cell's DNA contains information for its own disintegration or death. The cells that do not perform apoptosis or mutate to live forever are cancerous cells.
