What Is Anti-peristalalisis?

Anti-peristaltic or a Retroperistalsis is a reversed peristaltic action of the intestines, by which unwanted things such as spoiled food or other waste products are carried upward and thrown out through the mouth.

It is a defense mechanism of our body that occurs when you Vomits, due to hangover, pregnancy, and local irritation of the stomach, such as bacteria or food poisoning. It can be triggered manually, but it is usually a reflex.

The glottis present between the vocal folds in the larynx is closed by the body reflex to prevent vomit from going into the trachea and the lungs.
