What is a stretches string? State if balanced or unbalanced force: When a string is stretched?
A string that is stretched is called a stretched string. When balanced forces act on an object at rest, the object will not move. For example, if you push against a wall, the wall pushes back with an equal but opposite force, so it is a balanced force. Forces that cause a change in the motion of an object are unbalanced forces. Unbalanced forces are not equal and opposite.
If the string is stretched and held on that position then the force is balanced. This is because we have to apply equal force from both sides to stretch the string. These forces are equal and opposite, so they are balanced.
