A spherical mirror is a curved reflecting surface which is the part of a hollow sphere of glass. The spherical mirrors are of two types: convex mirrors and concave mirrors.

The difference between convex and concave mirror are as follows:

Concave Mirror	Convex Mirror
1. In a concave mirror, the reflection of light takes place at a concave surface (or bent-in surface).	1. In a convex mirror, the reflection of light takes place at the convex surface (or bulging out surface).
