What is a Sector?
A sector is the area of a circle between two radii. There are two types of sectors, namely, the minor sector and the major sector.
Minor sector: A smaller part occupied by two radii is called the minor sector.
A larger part occupied by two radii is called the major sector. A major sector has a central angle which is more than 180°.
$\frac{angle \ at \ centre}{360*}=\frac{area \ of \ sector}{\pi r^2}$
$area \ of \ sector= \frac{angle \ at \ centre}{360*}\times \pi r^2$
Area of Major sector = Area of the circle $-$ Area of the minor sector
