What is a rectangle?


A rectangle is a four-sided flat shape with straight sides where all interior angles are right angles (90°). Also, the opposite sides are parallel and of equal length.

Example: A square is a special type of rectangle where length is equal to breadth.

A rectangle is a quadrilateral with four right angles. It can also be defined as an equiangular quadrilateral, since equiangular means that all of its angles are equal. It can also be defined as a parallelogram containing a right angle.
