What is a tissue?



Tissues are groups of cells in multicellular organisms that consist of structurally and functionally similar cells. Organs are formed by grouping together of multiple tissues according to their function.

There are 'four' different types of tissues found in animal:
1. Connective Tissue
2. Muscle Tissue
3. Nervous Tissue, and
4. Epithelial Tissue


There are 'three' different types of tissues found in plants:
1. Vascular Tissue
2. Ground Tissue, and
3. Epidermal Tissue
