What Is (a² - b² )

Given: $(a^{2} - b^{2})$

Solution

It is an identity

$a^{2} - b^{2} = (a+b) (a-b)$

$ (a+b) (a-b) = a^{2} - b^{2}$

Proof

$(a+b) (a-b) = a^{2} - b^{2} + ab - ab = a^{2} - b^{2}$

So $a^{2} - b^{2} = (a+b) (a-b)$
