What is a homologous series of carbon compounds?
Homologous series refers to the series representing a family of compounds in increasing order having the same functional group, and the successive members differ by CH2 unit or 14 mass unit: for example, the homologous series of alcohols are given below:-
Methanol (CH3OH)
