What happens when an ant bites?
When an ant bites, the liquid that it injects which causes the skin to burn is Methanoic Acid.
The Substance used to treat it is Calamine solution or Moist Baking Soda.
Calamine solution (contains Zinc Carbonate) is basic in nature and hence neutralizes the Methanoic acid.
It turns Red Litmus to Blue as it is basic in nature.
