What does plant eat?
Plants prepare their own food material through the process of photosynthesis. Through photosynthesis, plants convert atmospheric carbon dioxide and water in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll into carbohydrates like glucose. These glucose molecules are transported through the plant out, and excess glucose is stored in the form of starch. During the process of making food, plants also release oxygen into the atmosphere.
